1995 ford contour, small 4 cy, radiator has been replaced, some modules, BUT now when my daughter drives to the point when the thermostat is supposed to open, the gauge indicates that it hasn't and the heater never generates any hot air!....eventually the thermostat opens but still no hot air.
Any ideas...anyone ????

TIA

Larry

u might have a prob with the heater core. very pricey to fix in shop or long time to do yourself.

now here is the latest in the saga of the ford contour. Busted #4 head gasket...overheated and caused the head gasket to crack...they told me this after $570.00 radiator repair. You can't trust mechanics. Now another question for the group...The car is worth $950.00..is it worth $159.00 liquid to repair the headgasket? Does this stuff work ? Found it on the 'net

Busted #4 headgasket? There is only one headgasket since there is only one cylinder head. Im confused.

As was pointed out to me..I should have said 4th cylinder...yes there is only 1 headgasket....I understand now why "mechanics" are listed as one of the top 20 liars. Sad state of affairs...I guess the best way to avoid the mistakes I maded was..know more then the person you're asking..or have enough money to just buy another car.

I hope you didnt warp your head when it over heated. Thats big $$$$! If all you have to do is replace the headgasket, I would just do it myself. Just be happy if you have the 4 cylinder and not the V6 for something like this. Really labor intensive.
