...and I figured I'd share it in here, as I haven't had a race in a while.

For as long as I have been a member here, and as many times I have posted, this will be my first thread. Haven't really gotten to race any bimmers, as they tend to ignore my car, and my other ride is an SUV, and I was looking to purchase a 540, but my prospects after college weren't as good as I was hoping (and I bought a house), but I'm working on it.

Anyhow. It was a young'ish guy in the 525i, and he seemed to be driving a bit aggressively, and I was in hurry to get home, so I just started matching his speed.

I noticed that his pace started going a bit faster, and faster, and I'm sure he noticed that I was matching him.

Just as it was about to turn into a 'race', we faced a red-light coming-up, and we ended-up side-by-side, at the head of the light.

I take-off without launching, just to see what he does, and I see his front-end jump a bit, as realize he got on it (damn, it was quiet).

So I get on it too.

by the end of 2nd, I was 3/4's of a car ahead, but it was a short light, so that was as far as that went.

Here's the stupid part (for those that don't think street 'recreation' isn't stupid in the first place): there was a van ahead of me in the lane I was in, and the sore loser, who had an open space in front of the line, in his lane, decided to stop just next to me, to ensure that I don't get behind him. At the same time, he looks at me, and gives me a glare, with eyes over his 200-dollar sunglasses.

I was thinking "okayyyy....?", while grinning at him.

Just to see his intentions, I started to go in his lane, ahead of him, as I have done the same thing, when racing somebody I know I'm truly faster than (let them start in front). Nope. He guns his car, to cut me off.

That was that for a while. A few miles down the road (I guess he lives in the same neighborhood/area as me), we end-up at the head of the light again, with an SUV in between us. I wasn't sure if he was going to go, so I just take-off normal, which, which when I'm in a hurry, is pretty brisk in itself.

I see his car jump, and his back bumper was level to my side-view mirrors. By the time I hit it, he was about a half-car ahead. This time, we had a wide, three-lane road ahead of us, with no traffic, so we were able to take it a bit farther.

By 4th gear, I was an easy two cars ahead of him, and that was that. He got behind some other traffic, and stayed there. Not saying he was avoiding me, but it sure looked that way.

BTW, my car is stock, with the exception of a generic cone-filter, and an aggressive ignition-timing advance. Best run on G-Tech was 15.0 @ 99.0 mph (supposedly 3-4 mph faster than you would get at a track, according to their site), with some tire-spin.

Nice kill, I'm sure you'll see that guy around plenty more. Very well written story too. I think he was avoiding you in the end. Well, serves him right, and you owned his ass, even when he took a jump on you in the last run. LOL. late...

Haha, I had a bad experience with a 530i earlier today. You should read my story. I don't know what it is with some of them, but I guess every car make has it's bad apples.

In bimmerforums, there are 3 types of guys: Cool ones who like cars no matter what type they are as long as they are fast, old guys who only use they're BMWs to show off how well they played the market, and Bimmer nutjobs who have logistical and biblical proof that the LS1 is nothing but a toy compared to the S54. Thats why I haven't posted their in a good long time, as the cool guys group (mostly rich young guys who'll drive anything fast and arent stuck up) is FAR to small.

hahahahahahahaha! it so true! Everybody I know with a bimmer fits perfectly into one of those categories....then again Im sure we can make a few categories for most popular cars...I just don't understand why some ppl have to be so pompus with their car. I mean you can love your car while still having respect for other brands

Good kill carrrnuttt. The best feeling in the world is beating the piss out of a cocky asshole. I'm sure that guy was like "whatever" when he saw you pull on him...like all of sudden (since he's losing) streetracing is sooooo juvenile. LOL.
