ON a 93' Caddy w/ I believe the 4.9 ltr. Tranny doesn't want to shift into OD. Was told that the selonoid is bad and that it is in the internals of the tranny. Is this true, or is there an easier way to fix this problem.

Those OD solenoids are the most common problem of an OD failure. Usually they can be changed without having to remove the trans. On THM 440 transmissions, the access pan on the driver's side of the trans must be removed. Your tans is likely similar, but I am not sure.

Nope, sorry to say it is not similar, his tranny is a 4T60-E, and yes the solenoids ARE inside the tranny. It needs to be removed and torn down to diagnose the problem. I had the 4T60-E rebuilt on my 93 Seville 4.9..... cost me $1600
