87 fiero engine swap help

well here goes i just bought an 87 and it has a 5 sprrd in it... problem is no engine. Was told it had a 4 cyl in it.. and i wanted to put a performance built 6 cyl into it what kind of problems do i need to expect on this one?
Not the first rodeo but it is the first of this level on a fiero. Need to know about tranny matching as well as wiring problem im going to have here....

what would i need to do to drop a 4.3 into the fiero and does the intake line up or would it require a totalk diffrent one?

While the Getrag designed, Muncie built 5 speed used in factory 2m6 Fieros is a little better , the Izuzu MT2 5 speed that was standard in the 2M4 will bolt up to any EFI GM front wheel drive V6 engine. (Firebird\Camaro\S10\Blazer\Jimmy engines bolt up as well but require a simple relocation of the starter)
Depending on the engine, you'll need to to obtain Fiero 2.8L engine mount brackets or fabricate your own. The engine's wiring harness and ECM are needed. Retrofitting the wiring is the most challenging part of the project. (At least for me it is)

In terms of the 4.3L intake, it's easy to build a custom induction system using flexible hose, PVC pipe, and aftermarket air cleaners.

I'm the 4.3 would require an adaptor plate to bolt to the trans. It probably needs several other things. Basically you're going to need every part for a SBC swap that isn't length related.
