On Wed. Nov. 24th I was Riding in the back seat of the trail blazer while my dad was towing the camper. Both south and North on the TurnPike are slam full.
We end up cruising bext to some little kid in some little Talon with some loud assed exaust drowning out my Led Zepplin :screwy: . next thing thing i know a later modle Ford Lightning SVT comed flying up on out left and slows due to the normal traffic brakeing due to cops up ahead. 3sec later a Mustang Conbra SVT comes flying up and does the same thing as the Lightning.
We pass the cops and the cobra lines up next to the lightning and on the first straigh off the top of a hill where no cops are seen they gun it and go. weaving in and out of 18wheelers, Minivans, Motor homes, etc... I'm thinking to myself 'i pray to god they dont cause a wreck and no one ends up dead.' well then Mr. Talon next to use decides he wants to play catch up.
For anyone who has driven on any interstate or large expressway in Florida you know that there are many large hills that you can top and see for hte next mile or so what is going on. well we top the hill i look out and loah and behold the Cobra is beating the Lightning and the talon either gave up, doesnt know how to drive, or is extremely slow. i think its the second two. right as it gets hard to distinguish all the different cars i see the Lighning make an 18wheeler swerve into the far left lane.
So a few miles down the road we pull off at one of the visitor centers/ gas stations/ rest stops. my dad is fuleing up and i am getting a Moutian Dew and Mr. Goodbar. i walk out and look who is putting some air in his tires. its the Lighning and the Cobra is getting Free coffe. i walk over to him and i first comliment him on his truck stateing that though i am a chevy/ euro/ import guy i like the Lighning. he pops the hood and continues to show me his new pulleys giving him some extra boost etc etc. he seemed quite proud of his little SVT. after we exchange our good byes i asked him to stop racing on croded highways the day before thanksgiving.
he procedded to call me a dumbass teenager and drive away with his cobra buddy giving a nice bird to eat for thanksgiving. :loser:
well i just keep quite and get back into the trail blazer and we take off.
about 12miles down the road they get held up. Next to that same talon... today is full of surprises. the talon gives both a Rev and at first chance they line up each in eahc lane of traffic and take off. i didnt see the whole race. jsut about 8 miels down the road the talon spun out in the ditch with a FHP writing him a ticket.
about 45min after this my mom complains about having to go to the rest room after drinking her free coffe at the last rest stop. we stop at the next rest stop. the Lightning and jsut hte lightning pulls in. (i know it seems like BS but...) he sees the trailblazer and takes off in traffing heading north. traffic heading north was twice as bad as heading south. the cobra is soon to follow.
Now am i the only one that thinks SVT drivers are stupid or what?

That part about the Talon spinning out was funny. I'm not sure I understand the ending though.

The ending was a little odd. But those two sounded like a couple of jackasses. Honestly, you can't change how someone drives. It isn't until they end up in an accident, get a huge fine, or their car is taken away for wreckless driving, that they realize they are being stupid. LOL that Talon ending up in the ditch was pretty funny. Late...

hehe, I like how he called you a dumbass teenager for asking him to drive safely... thats ironic lol

I like how once again mustang owners get dissed. I wouldnt race in traffic, I wouldnt diss a teen looking out for safety, I wouldnt cause a TSI to swerve into a ditch....
Alright, im going to stop and accept the flames that come with owning a ford performance car.

well when i said SVT drivers are stupid i mean that 99% of the time you see an SVT they are either trying something dumb or testing a car much faster than they.
as for the ending. i was just adding that they became even more stupid by heading on for a few races in even heavyer traffic than before. and honestly i dont even like driving in traffic as heavy as was heading south. people in general do alot of stupid and unsafe things when thigns get congested at 50-80mph... having 2 or 3 cars weaving in and out of people space trying to beat the other isnt going to make it any better. it sucked that traffic was bad because i wanted to get some trailer pulling experence in. but there was no way you where gonna get me driving that thing in thoes sort of traffic conditions pulling a 4500lb 25ft travel trialer... oh well.

I think its just that alot of sports car drivers in general are cocky. Mustang drives just get alot of flack because of sterotypes. I know plenty of mustang drivers who arnt cocky. But it only takes one cocky driver to wreck it for the rest of the drivers.

As we all should know, cocky drivers can be in ANY car...literally. And the same goes for bad drivers. Its the person thats an ass weaving through traffic, not the general population of that car. Hope you all had a good TG anyways.

as for the mustang SVT driver, it was kinda funny that he made that remark about dumbass teenagers. lol the irony. . .good for you though for not making any remarks.

lol, I believe you missed the sarcasm entirely.
Well, we all encounter stupid people, but for some reason I also encounter them more often in a Ford vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I know some cool as shit Mustang owners, but man, there are many idiots out there also.

Um...saying all SVT drivers are stupid is...well...stupid. And when a teen tells a person whose been driving longer than they've been alive how they should drive...well...I can imagine that being irritating. And you say you drive a trailblazer huh? Theres this cocky ass annoying fuck who drives around where I live in an obnoxious yellow trail blazer, and he's ALWAYS trying to race some sports car. Now that, is stupidity. But...you don't see me calling you a cocky ass annoying fuck just because you also happen to drive a trailblazer, do you?

You dont think the mustang GT was made with performance in mind? It's not the fastest car, in fact it is probally one of the slowest "performance cars" but what would you like to call it? Ok my Mustang Gt is a economy coupe. Remember who is driving a cavalier here, (not that I ever dissed your car before), but a z24 isnt exactly quick, and it just barely holds the Mustang GT with the help of a supercharger. Now hows that for irony?

well the z24 is also a 4cyl with a smaller engine, had to add that comment, havent been here in a few days, soccer, takes up alot of itme, 3 games in a row. and 3 next week... ahhh when will i get my internet classes done.
as for saying he has been driving longer than ive been alive, im 16. the guy was in his 20's. he would have to be at least 32 to be driving as long as ive been alive. and you are bashing me for asking, not telling, a guy to stop racing in heavy traffic because i didnt want anyone to end up hurt or dead? WTF? (sory about the whole 16/32 thing, im nitpickey when some one bashes me on retarded grounds)
also, i dont own the trailblazer, my parents do, i myself do no own a car at the time due to soccer season and internet classes taking up my job workin/insurance paying time. and IMO the only thing good on the TB is the i-6's increadibly flat power curve and its looks. tranny is crap and the rear end blew out on ours after only 111 miles. true it was falty but still.... 111 miles...

My point wasnt to diss his car, it was showing why I consider mine a performance car. A v8 isnt for economy.

Okay, so you asked him to quit racing on a public road. What if I ask you to quit posting on this forum? I know I'd get some smart ass comment back. Not to mention I don't have the authority to ask you that. Just as you don't have the authority to insist he doesn't race on a crowded road. I know your intentions were good..but still..you really had no jusitification in asking him to quit racing on a public road. If anyone ever told me to quit racing on a public road I'd tell them to quit breathing and see how fast they listen to me.

Had to be the most moronic post ive ever seen, ever. I ASKED, not told, ASKED him to stop racing on THAT DAY when the traffic was heavyer than a brick of lead.
If you have a problem with that and think he is more mature than me about such an issue you really need to go check yourself into the insane assylum (sp?).
I race on public roads, everyone in here has raced on public roads. The difference is we know when the time and place are right. the day before thanksgiving on a heavily packed interstate is not the day to try out your new compressor pulley. or see if it makes you faster than a stock SVT 'Stang.

I'm going to have to agree with both of you. dampachi, the thing is CB was trying to tell the guy to slow down. Pretty much just giving him some advice. For all you know the Mustang Driver could have ended up like the Talon, and could have very well have taken others with him. But you are also right in saying he had no authority to ask him what to do. But any real smart person would realize that and would take it down a few notches. The guy, being a prick, told him off, and sped off. The point of CB's thread is that this is Stupidity at it's finest. Which I would have to agree with him almost entirely. Late...
