3.1 engine replacement

Does anyone know if a 3.1 out of a 2000 malibu will work in a 95-96 monte carlo?. I understand the accy's and switches and sensors are most likely different and those can be swapped.

Its the motor its self I'm concerned with, flywheel mount? to the trans?
The intake looks the same or will it need to be swapped?

I have the oppertunity to have a couple of monte carlos a 95 and 96 that have bad motors but the cars are in really nice shape inside and out.

If anyone has done this would like the comments, I've done this with later Malibu's without much problems.
