Ive got a '70 Beetle... or should say HAD one...
Yes, after about a year of owning her, i (not knowing it turned the fan) took off the alternater because it was locked up. And on the freeway coming back from where i removed it, i lost power and noticed the back seat on fire. (im among the more observant of people)
And, finding myself without a fire extinguisher, i could do nothing but stand back and watch my time and effort be burned to the ground. By the time it was put out, the only things that could be saved on the car were a few parts i had in the trunk at the time and the suspension.
Because i am only 17 and invested most of my cash in that car, i am now relying on selling the THOUSANDS of parts that i had for this car. Including porche parts that i was going to put in mere days after the incident.
After the fire, i flipped her on her side to take off the BMW sway bars that gave me better than normal handling which were undamaged in the fire.
At this point however, i have no time left to strip the body itself for parts, so i am instead hoping someone can direct me to the best place (a recycler more likely than not) to drop this burnt down bug off and get a few bucks for her.
I have in my posession another body altogether that i intended on switching out with the now burnt one and literally almost every replacement part for every square inch of the car. Unfortunately, as much as i would enjoy rebuilding her and starting over, i am currently too busy with school and my Marine Corps programs to put any more time into the world of Vdubs.
At this point, i need the money from these parts to finance a new set of wheels to get me from A to B. So if anyone knows of the best places (preferably in California) where i could sell these parts for a decent price OR would be interested in what im selling, please let me know.
Im still taking inventory of everything i have and am still unsure as to how much everything is worth. So if you want to cheat me out of some really nice parts, now is your chance.
Thx guys.

Well, you missed your chance ppl.
I just sold off the burnt out shell and all of my parts to a recycler for a measly $300.
Total, that stuff was worth about 5,000.
I know i shouldve pawned the stuff individually, but i have neither the time nor the patience for it. So this thread is done for. Thx anyways guys.
