Vibration

i have a problem in the front end of the car it has a vibration in the front and it feels something like a u-joint in a rear wheel drive and it stops vibrating when i take a right hand curve (it feels like the drivers side but it could be vibrating through) i just changed the cv joint in the passenger side but it didnt fix the problem any suggestions on what it might be? i want to see if there could be anything else wrong before i spend the money on another cv for the drivers side

I had the same problem on my 1994 grandam we thought of everything from the balancing the tires but when we got it up on the lift i went into the car to turn the steering wheel while the another guy checked the front end i noticed the top of the strut on the passenger side (strut bearing plate) rubber was moving excessivly so i moved the wheel back and forth and the rubber on the bearing plate was worn and the shaking was on the drives side as well we replaced the bearing plate and that fixed the problem and only cost me $50.00 i bought the new plate at the parts store and a mechanic installed it. hope this will help.
