I don't know if your car has it, but there might be a small brake light switch on the top of the brake pedal. If you push the pedal down slowly with the engine off you may hear the click of the switch engaging on and off. The switch may be faulty, wire come off or even the switch may have dislodged from its holder. I hope this helps

It is doubtful that the turn switch is causing the problem. It sounds like there is a wire broken or a bad ground causing your problem. The turn signals work on a different circuit. Check the bulb sockets too.

The Reason I Thought That Might Be The Problem Was I Called A Mechanic Shop To Ask Some Of These Same Questions And He Told Me There Was A Switch In The Steering Colum That Was Bad And The Solution Was To Replace The Entire Thing. $550 I Thought He Was Nuts

I agree with you $550, he is nuts. Even with disabling the air bag removing the steering wheel, the locking plate and replacing the switch shouldn't take longer than 2 hours. That must be some labor rate!!!

You said in your first forum that the turn signals and regular tail lights work, if it was the ground surely they wouldn't work either. I still think it has something to do with the power to the brake switch. Is there a brake relay ? if so switch it with 1 of the others (of same) and test it.
