Battery & Check Engine Light

Hello! I just returned from Grease Monkey with my 2001 Cabrio. They said my battery is at 302 CCA, although it's supposed to be at 575 CCA. Also, my "check engine" light has recently come on. So ... this leads to a couple of questions: 1) does the 302 CCA really mean that my battery needs to be replaced? can it be recharged or ignored for awhile :) ? 2) could the battery issue be related to the "check engine" light?
Thanks for any help -- I've had my Cabrio for about a year and this is the first problem. I just love my little car!

If you're having problems that the starter will only crank the engine a few times then dies or that there's not enough power in the battery to crank the engine at all then they probably meant it needs to be replaced. As for the check engine light I'd have the codes read, then you will know what the problem is. Most Autozone & some Advanced Auto Parts stores will help you for free.
