Hi
I just bought a honda prelude 92 model with 80,000km on the clock for $9,000 Australian dollars
its a japanese personal import. its got a 2.3 litre engine so i am guessing that its a 160 hp model. non vtec
what do you guys think did i get a pretty good deal?
also i want to ask you;se a question. my friend has a prelude 2.3 litre motor with a vtec. jap model
how can his car have vtec when its a 93 model????????????// and everyone says there is no 2.3L vtec engine. also some people say that you can replace the head of a 23 with a 22 head and then you get vtec?
they say this is very expensive? how much would this be to do and those this give you an advatange over a 22 enginer with a vtec?
whats the hp output of a 2.3 vtec?
thanks
also was there ever a 2.7Litre vtec racing model developed in japan? or anything like that in 93 94? or any other yearts?

as far as I know no 2.7, and also the headswap isnt very expensive, ECU/head oil lines, wiring mods, dowels, some machine work, etc. it does get expensive but nowhere near *very* expensive. just dropping in an H22 longblock/ecu might be just as cheap though, and teh small gain of .1 liters of displacement wouldnt be worth the time/effort if it ends up costing just as much in my opinion
and if the body/interior is in good shape thats not a bad price at all, isnt 80000km like 35-45k miles or so? thats LOW LOW miles for a 90's car, especially a 92
