Nothing's coming out of the water pump weep hole? If it's not the water pump I'd take a serious look at the Intake manifold/gaskets. I think there is an upper and lower intake. The upper, I think, is made of plastic and can fail. You may notice coolant at the throttle body end of the manifold too. I know 3.1s and 3.4s used to go thru intake gaskets, the 3.8s not as much, but sometimes.

gave up paid the shop for a new water pump , they blamed it on dex cool. they said its what made it go so they did a BG coolant flush and put that new preston coolant in. since its dex cool capatible it wont mess my egine up

I had a coolant leak in my 96 Delta LSS... the shop said it was the water pump too. I have heard lots about Dex-Cool being from hell and whatnot. If the Intrigue 3.8 is the same 3800 series that I have then I figure we had the same problem. Too bad, them pumps is expensive. :screwy:

Yes , Dexcool Coolant Is Terrible. The Sticker Said Do Not Touch For 5 Years Or 100000 Miles. But, Not Being Flushed That Long Causes The Coolant To Become Acidic. This Then Corrodes All Plastic, Rubber, Or Gasket Material It Contacts (plenum Or Upper Intake Manifold, Radiator( Plastic Parts) And Hoses, Upper/ Lower Intake Gaskets) And The Water Pump. Coolant Leaks Are Common In The These Areas And Will Eventually Hydrolock Your Engine -it Will Not Overheat, Just Lock Up. I Flushed My System Every 30k Because I Know Better, And My Lower Intake Had A Small Leak At 120k. I Then Rebuilt The Engine And Saw Some Damage To All Mentioned Areas. If I Would Have Followed The Sticker Instructions It Would Have Occured Much Sooner. The Right Combination Of Dexcool And Water Is Just As Good As The Prestone Dexcool Compatible The Key Is To Change Regularly Not Leave In Engine For 100k Or 150k.

I had a coolant leak I could not find on top of my engine. Changed thermostat and gasket to see if it would fix (since the coolant would collect on intake manifold and bake). This did not fix it. Low and behold after taking it in, intake gaskets lower and upper were leaking and were replaced.
