well......i've had enough with this crap with my car sputtering alot when i rev my engine or put it at full throttle in the lower rpms. it feels like its just gonna stall completely cus it sputters so much. cant be my fuel filter, cus i just changed that about 4k miles ago. i'm doubting its my injectors cus i used that injector cleaner stuff.
when i changed my rotor and distributor cap and ignition coil.....my car stopped sputtering for like 2 days. when i changed my fuel filter...it stopped sputtering for about 2 weeks. when i changed my oil, it stopped sputtering for a day. whenever i did basic tune ups like these, it stopped sputtering and didnt give me problems until a few days later after the tune up.
could it be my fuel pump, timing, or spark plugs or something? i have no clue what to do now. my car is running a little lean tho....
sorry i'm such a newb at this stuff

Change EVERYTHING on ur nex tune up... dizzy cap and rotor, fuel filter, spark plugs + wires, oil. that way u know it cant be the basics, if i keeps doin it, u have a bigger problem.

could just be wires or plugs - my wifes accord had a bad wire and it caused some weird problems. Couldn't hurt to change them.

sounds ignition related...you said you already changed your cap and rotor. I recommend changing your plugs and wires next.
Do you have any check engine lights?

ah, sorry for no reply for so long. i replaced my plugs and wires 2 months ago....bosch wires and bosch platinum spark plugs with the automatic gap adjustment thing. no check engine light, and the ecu isnt throwing any codes. i decided to check on my spark plugs a few days ago because my car has been running the same crappy way still. the spark plug at the #1 cylinder had a little coating of oil on it and was sort of loose compared to the rest of the spark plugs. what does this mean? leaking head gasket or bad rings or what.

Changing mine lead to oil in the plug tubes so changing the spark plug tube seals wouldn't help. Does your car burn any oil? I just have to get around to do mine though.

When did it start? Like, was it after you changed your spark plugs or anything? If it happened after replacing anything like that, then focus on that area. Another thing you might wanna check out is your O2 sensor. Maybe your running too lean. Do your spark plugs look burnt or anything?

it started happening not too long ago....but not right after changing something. hmmm, i did look at my spark plugs and they are white-ish on the bottom so i'm either running really lean or burning coolant and i know for a fact i'm not burning coolant. so....i'm gonna go get another o2 sensor and see what happens.

you shouldnt use those bosch plugs. stick with NGK. bosch platinums arent designed for the best performance, just for longest life. plus they arent the recommended design for our cars

Accually some place did extensive tests and accually got more power out of the Bosch than they did the NGK. I'm sure someone on here has the link, as this is where I saw it at.

Just get stock replacement plugs. I had the same problem when I was running those expensive irridium plugs and platinum plugs. As soon as I went back to the copper plugs things were all better.
