Can anybody please tell me if there is a trick to getting the shift knob off a 93 Accord. I tried a little bit when I was installing my stereo, but quickly gave up. Now I want to put in a new one. Is there a set screw somewhere in there?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hmmm try to unscrew the complete knob...turning it
If that doesn't work.. see if it has like a little cap on the bottom of the knob. that should unscrew and you should see 3 screws that hold the knob to the stick. You will probably need an Allen screw to take those out.

If it's just stock then you should be able to turn it counter clockwise to get it off. If it's on there tight then get some pliers to help loosen it up a little.

i just did this a week ago on my 92 accord. yeah, i had the same trouble as you. even if you turn the thing clockwise, it still gets caught by the boot. what i did was i unscrewed the whole middle compartment between the two seats and under that, there are two screws that hold the boot and compartment together. stick your arm up there (it's gonna be very tight), and unscrew the two screws, this should loosen up your boot and then you would be able to unscrew your knob off.
