Big oil problem

I've got a '92 Formula with the 305. It's been running good since I bought it a year ago, with only minor problems. It had a low oil pressure problem, but when I changed the sending unit, that seemed to fix it. Now it seems to have high oil pressure. The only time the needle come off from being pegged at 60 is after I've been racing. And a second problem, probably related, has just come up. About a weeek ago, I noticed that oil is starting to leak out of the dipstick, even if I'm driving like granny. What does this mean/how can I fix it? I need help quick!

your gauge could be off.Oil pressure changes with the temp of the motor.Cam bearings are the leading cause of low oil pressure engine hot.Its lower after you run it hard, because the heat.I hate 305 dipsticks.I cant find a replacement dipstick for a 305 on any parts house shelf. You either have high crankcase pressure, too much oil,or you need a new dipstick.Good luck finding one.Every time i rebuild a 305,it seems like i have to make my own, meaning cutting/fitting a tube, and marking the dipstick.Maybe your crankshaft is splashing your oil, causing it to come out of the dipsick tube.Mine seeps oil out of every possible point when i run it hard.So i just leave it a quart low. It'll just blow it everywhere anyways.

Okay... I'll try dumping my oil and filling it low... but if it's High Crankcase pressure, how do I fix that?

new rings fixes high crankcase pressure.a way to check the pressure,is by removing the oil cap,and seeing if a lot of stinky air comes out of it.I would try a half a quart low,no more than a quart low.A lot of people dont recommend doing that, but im not a lot of people.

I guess I'll go with the half quart low. I took off the cap and didn't notice anything. I'll come back to let you know how it works out.

take out the dipstick and feel for air too.

Okay, so.. I took it for a drive, and it didn't seem to be leaking anymore, so I guess that problem is fixed.
