Problems with keypad

Ok I was by my dad's house and I went to open the trunk, and I accidently hit the panic key. When I went to hit it again, it wouldnt go off. I had to go in the car, insert key and start engine. I discovered later that the keypad is no longer working (reason i couldnt shut off panic), and my dad recomended change battery in keypad. No luck. I changed it, but it still doesnt work. Is there any way I can look into fixing this myself, I really dont have the money to take it to ford. Thanks for your help.

You probably have to reset the system. I don't know how to do that exactly but I'm sure someone can help you.
