Air intake for '01 Sierra

my father in-law drives one of these and I was wanting to get him an intake for christmas... Something that will help out a bit with gas mileage and maybe a few extra horsepower. As you can see in my sig I'm not familiar with domestic vehicles. I would greatly appreciate your input on a preffered brand and why.

He always tells me it has 240bhp... but I couldn't find an engine in this year model with those numbers. I saw 270, 285, and another one that was even more.

You're going to need to know the engine size for sure. K&N offers the FIPK (fuel injection performance kit) and they have been making these for quite a while and have a good reputation. The cheapest prices I have seen are on eBay for less than $200.

Cool. I'll check it out. This weekend I looked under the hood and it turns out it is the 5.3L V8.
