Hey guys. Man it's been a while. Well I need a project car for School and was looking at the 240z line. I was wondering if they had A/C. And if they are ok to maintain and if I could pick one up for about 1500 dollars. Also is there a place where I can go to ask people or get info on them like stock hp and weight etc? Also feel free to email me at DRJKimmo-AT-Hotmail-DOT-com. Curse you internet hackers and making me have to write out my email addy.
Thanks,
Derek
EDIT: And how big are they in comparison to say like a civic or something?
Thanks,
Derek

They generally don't have A/C.
They're pretty small in comparison to a Civc...
Fairly easy to maintain. The stock motor is a breeze to do basic maintenance too. They make an advertised 150hp in stock form, I find it hard to believe that it's 150hp... seems sluggish for 150. Although with some minor work they do start to liven up fairly quick, and become such awesome little cars.
They generally weigh 2300lbs in stock trim.
Just do a google search and you can find tons of internet forums just for the Z.
Also, you can find them for $1500, but as with any car it may not be the best example for that little. Also depending on where you live... you gotta watch for rust. The Z's have thin metal, so they rust easily. So you gotta watch out or you get what you paid for.
$2000-3000 is a good range to search. They usually aren't too beat down. I got mine for $2700.

Alright thanks. I plan to do some work on it anyways. There's a 280z locally for 2200. Might talk with my dad.

That's a sweet car. I'd rather have the SR20DET swap though. That big V8 probably weighs it down in the front alot. Nice car nonetheless.

Sorry for bringing it up again but I don't have time to start a new thread or join another forum at the moment. This Z in the ad is an 83 280ZX turbo. qwhat do those put out stock?

Uhhh, I hope you're not talkin about the Ebay ad we're all talking about. Because that's a 74 260Z.

Did you read what the engine in it is???
I don't think that's all that unreasonable of a price.

wowzers. the engine and mechanical work alone is worth near what the car went for. i know some Z fenatics that would have gladly paid double that for that set up.
