I replaced the KA24DE in my 95 S14 with another KA24DE except it was from a S13. However I transfered every single thing to the S13 DE. I put it all back into the car and plugged in all the connectors, vacuum lines, and fuel lines. I tried to start it and it wouldnt crank. I checked my battery voltage and it was 9.4 volts. I took the battery out of my ae86 and then it would crank with 12.64 volts. And since all it does is crank and get my spark plugs wet with fuel.
Do you guys have any suggestions? I am literally stumped here. I grounded the spark plugs against the chassis and cranked the motor on all 4 wires and plugs and all of them sparked. I also purchased the distributor from a junk yard I don't know if the problem even lies with in the distributor.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
Thanks,
Jonathan.

if your getting spark then that means your distributer and ignition coil is working fine. did you try messing around with the firing order? and did you try to put the rotor in positon? you can put the rotor in 3 different positions, and that will cause your car not to start.

I am pretty sure #1 was at TDC and then I positioned the rotor around 9:30 or where it looks to be in the service manual. Can you please explain what you mean 3 different positions? Do you mean if its not positioned at #1? Or did you mean it can be at 1 but something else I don't know about?
Thanks for the reply!

when you take off the distributer cap. the rotor sits on a triangular shaped shaft. so that means you can actually put the rotor in 3 differnt positions. normally cars have a round shaft with a key on it, so it can only sit 1 way. i remember not being careful when changing cap and rotor once, and the car didn't start. i had to put the rotor in every possible way to get it to start again. ( thats if you didn't screw around with the firing order
