My 93 Z28 had, I believe, the 4L60 in it and it was great. No problems through out the time I owned it at about 85,000 miles give or take. My sisters T/A has the 4L69E and it has had no problems and it's around 85,000 miles too. It also has the performance button on it. Much firmer shifts, it's very sporty for an auto. I like them for being an auto, they are responsive in the 4L60E (not the 4L60's) shift nice and smooth when you want it and firm when you need it. I also drove a 95 Z28 with about 140,000 miles and it had a terrible problem with the transmission slipping, had pretty burnt fluid too though. In short they are IMO excellent transmissions, but why an auto, go for the six speed, much much more fun.

Actually think that some TA's came with that performance button from the factory. Ive seen it before it was on the shifter when i saw it.

It is on the center console next to the shift lever, it looks like a stock feature/button, I'v never seen it on a Z28 but I think other pontiacs like the bonneville had the same optional performance shift button on them.

I got that performance shift button on my car. It just electonically increases line pressure to deliver firmer shifts. The Z28 already have slightly higher line pressure so it wasn't a big improvement but it also comes with the Corvette Servo if it has the button.
