Spray-on Bedliners

Hi, I want to get a spray-in liner for 04 Silverado. I know there are a few brands out there, but I was wondering what you all think is the best one to get. The ones I know are, Rhino, Line-ex, Armorthane, Hercliner.

There is only one real spray in, Line-X all the way, not even a question. The others are horrible.

not true! i installed the HIPPO liner myself and it's just fine! be sure to sand the box really well fill any dent's then wipe it clean really good then spray away or roll it on , mine was a roller and covered very well , i put my sled in the back with carbine runners sharp as a razor and doesn't even scratch it. good luck!

My apologies i guess i was a little hasty and harsh, in my opinion nothin beats the look of the line-X, definitely more expensive, but for the me look and the performance of the liner far outway the competition.

Has anybody heard anything about herculiner spray on or armorthane.

I have the Line x and agree that it is the best i've seen. The only mistake i made was not to have the bed caps sprayed.

I have the Line-X liner and love it. I went with the liner over the tops. It seems to be just the right texture. Not too rough, not smooth at all. I went with Black, since the rest of my truck is black.

They did say not to use a spray on wax like a lot of the drive through car wash's too often. They say the wax will build up on the liner, but I would guess it would do that with any of them. I even got a "Line-X" sticker and keychain with mine.

My decision was between Rhino and Line-x. Here is St. Louis, I called around to several of each of their offices and everytime I called the Rhino people they were rude, in a hurry and not able to explain the pro's, con's and what to expect from the product very well. The Line-X shop in South St. Louis was patient and very respectfull. He understood that he was working on my baby and he wasn't doing it for free.

Theirs a spot where some of that shitty wax candy sat in their for a day in the summer and baked into the liner. I also have a stain from someone throwing an egg in their.

Have you tried WD40 on it? it has removed every stain so far on my liner.

The company I work for uses Arma Coatings, which was actually an industrial coating company first, on all of our new trucks (we buy one or two a year). This stuff is a thermo and chemical resin and really takes about a week to harden. This nice part is that all of the little drain holes in my bed still drain, which according to the Rhino guys, would not be the case with their system. They said that only the two big holes in the corner would work. I also had it installed in my personal vehicle (2000 Silverado) and have been very happy. I had one gouge the first week (like I said, it seems to take a little time to set) and they fixed it without question. I have hauled full loads of 100-200 lb blasted granite stones as well as many loads of firewood and have never had a problem. For what it's worth, the Arma salesman said he would not knock Rhino's product; he felt it was comparable. I also have a friend that used a boat deck coating and has had good luck with that. My understanding is that the key is getting a good surface for the stuff to adhere.

Ill give the wd-40 a shot. as far as the drain holes, the line-x filled them in a little,but still drained. like a week or 2 after i got it put in i just took a reeming tool to them, and they work fine. Im interested to see how this stuff performes in the cold weather. I have a small chip on it from a dish washer, but i dont really think its worth gettin fixed yet. the place I got it done isnt very close.

I have a Reflex spray-on in my 02 Ranger, it's been in for 2 years, no fading or chipping and it holds any load from slipping around. I've seen Rhino liners fade out really quickly, and LineX chips. My opinion is that the Reflex is a superior liner.

I just did mine with Herculiner. It looks great and can be done for less than $100. According to the reviews and info I read on the internet, this is the best do-it-yourself liner available, and it's virtually indestructable. It looks similar to LineX of Rino, but it is not as thick.

We tested at work on semi trailer axle housings a few years ago. We couldn't damage it with the claw of a claw hammer.

The reviews and the instructions stress proper prep. I recommend using a power tool for the prep work. The kit only comes with a scotch pad.

I actually have both the Line-X spray on and herculiner on my 1999 silverado.

I had it professionally sprayed three years ago, and didn't have the bed caps done.

Then earlier this year I lost the plastic tailgate cap and decided to go with herculiner on the bed caps and top of the tailgate. I just bought the smaller sized can that you would need if you had an 8 foot bed for like $30.

It actually matches quite well, I just used three coats instead of two to match the thickness a little better.

If price was no matter, I would have it sprayed in, bed caps and tailgate caps done.

But herculiner is a great solution for less than a third of the price. The prep work is a bit of a hassle, and I wouldn't want to prep the entire bed with a scotch pad so some power option would be way better.


As an fyi-the only thing I have found that will completely disable my sprayed-on liner is Off-Mosquito repellent. I had a can leak in the back of the truck and the spray on liner got soaked and pulled right up like a mushy rubber mess.

I also gobbed a bunch of herculiner to fix that spot up.

Working at the dealership i've seen mainly the line-x herculiner and also a liner called superliner. they have all looked pretty good although the super liner has a bit more of a glossy look to it(may be available in line-x also but haven't seen it yet) super liner has a website... have been decently impressed with what i've seen from them.. http://www.bedliner.com
i believe my shop promotes superliner more than any other but i have a line-x in mine and i also love it.

I did the herculiner myself and I am very happy with it. It is not nearly as thick as most of the spray on applications, and having my sled in and out about 2 dozen times, has left some scratches, a couple all the way through. But for the cost, I would do the herculiner again, again, and again. It was a messy job though, and DONT GET IT ON YOUR SKIN like the directions say! I have found some other great applications for it as well at work.
