I was wondering if someone can help me install a block heater for the '96 toyota camry. I checked out the other thread on this subject, but it did not help. i need someone who could help me through an easier way. steps should help. The installation book is kinda difficult. I know which area to put it, but where do i plug it in? well thanks, i will be waiting.

If I'm not mistaken, you have to plug block heaters into an outlet in the house via an extension cord.

Normally, a block heater is inserted in a freeze plug hole instead of the plug. You drain the coolant, pull a freeze plug that is out of the way and as centrally located as possible. Install the heater in a clean dry hole with sealant, and a hammer with some sort of large socket or pipe that fits the OD of the heater plug. Doing this, you make sure the inside portion doesn't touch anything.

I bought a block heater at the Toyota dealer ( CAD $ 39) and ask a general mechanic to install it. It was installed instead of the second freeze plug from the left (looking to the engine from the front) . The oil filter would be at the left. I hope is a 4 cyl . There is an ugly picture in my galley if you need some visual aid. Good luck
