OK was going to NC from DC. Towing about 4k worth of weight. Blew something. Check engine light flashing. Real rough idle at start slow pick up. No power. Runs like doo. If I am giving it gas It is ok. But it has a real rough idle. Burns gas like it is nothing. Any Help is appreciated. Thanks :banghead:

Clogged or clogging catalytic converter, maybe. Do the key test and see what codes you get.

Well, if you truck is older than 1997 the key test won't work. I don't think that a clogging cat converter would blow something without some sort of warning before hand. I mean, usually you will notice the lack of power when the cat starts to clog. I wouldn't think it would just clog and blow.

Never mind about the key test. On 1994 to 1997 models, you can get check engine light codes by turning the key in a sequence, but on 1998 and later models they took that feature off.

Well I didt blow anything. Sparkplug wire was laying the exhaust manifold. All good now. Thanks to autozone for the check engine check
