97 4Runner warm starting; check engine

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Several times over the past couple of monnths I've noticed that *sometimes* when the engine is warm and I turn it off for a few minutes (get gas, pick up child, etc.), when I go to start it, it will start then immediated die. If I try again, same results until I give it some gas. Afterwards, it drives perfectly (and always does). I figured something fuel related, but would keep a close eye on it.

Last night driving home (no problems yesterday at all), my check engine light came on while driving around 45. I figured it's related to my problem above and will go get it scanned for codes. I do most routine maintenance and repairs on all my cars (hobby), but I don't have a scanner for my 4Runner (another topic later), so I'll take it to Autozone I suppose. Anyway, any thoughts? I'm hoping something simple like a relay or sensor. I haven't tried to start it today, but hoping it will. Oh, it's 97, 3.4 V6 with 115K. Thanks for any ideas!

Been running and starting fine the past couple of days, although the check engine light remains lit. I'm going to Autozone this morning to get the codes- hopefully. Anyone have any guesses based on my symptoms above? Thx!

Well, one of my friends recently had the same problem with his car. He said that he had do something with the fuel injectors and fuel pump. If your alternator and battery has no problems it is probbaly fuel related.
