Go ahead and cam it, but go with a cam one size smaller than the one you listed, otherwise you'll be hating life, or you'll need a higher stall which sill hurt your mileage even more. I can get into why but that's alot more info than you really need right now, just trust me on this one! :2cents:

one step smaller??? gebus, man, for a STREET motor, yall are nuts, for a car i drive every day, i aint goin over .500in of lift. shit the 450-500hp 302 im building is running a .480in(est) lift cam. when choosing your cam, be honest with yourself, are you making a race car, or a fun daily driver. very very seldom do you get both out of a single package. I advise you call comp cams tech help line, its a 1-800 number so its free, and i would ask them what cam they suggest to run with your package.

hot rod, you must only look at racing cams, there are plenty of short duration cams check most production vehicles specs.

ive never heared of chevrolet using anything less than a 255 duration cam stock.Thats news to me.A H.O. cam is like a 268-272 somwhere.Stage 1 rough idle stuff. The cam i posted is what i put in mine.thump-a-da-thump-a-da-thump

For the city since its your daily driver i like to use the Lunati Cam. Use it in one of the mustangs we did up.Be sure to get the street cams becuase of the high mileage

A stock 350 cam has its advantages.not up high or down low,but right in between

thats what mine was stock.then i added some stuff.you can cam them up to the moon, even if its a daily driver.just keep your foot off the wood and remember kids play in residentials, and old ladies cross the street.i drive mine to work cammed up all the time.and my only complaint so far is i have to put it into neutral for a high enough idle to get brake boost.

powermaster brakes that are on the GN's are good. power assist is done by an eletric pump. GM was worried that the vacume boosted brakes would not work right away when the car came right out of boost.

you can make your own at home.I wonder if i could use a diesel brake system, that runs from the power steering pump.Or maybe make my own with a electric pump out of a portable steam vac,a few rubber hoses, and a small storage canister, with a relief valve and adjustable pressure regulator....

.500 is for engine.. you gotta to cam it.. the computer is set for maxium is what you could put .. but since you want to drive everyday from home to work.. I would go for cam..

Hey you up there, the guy with 89 Z-28 and RS... I have a question for ya.. About a couple days ago, I drove my car and freak if I know.. I saw a 2002 Camaro were next to me.. As soon I hit the gas, I don't know if its my tranny or my rear end quit... Do you think its my tranny or my rear end.. what happen is when I pull the shift in gear.. I roll really slowly like a push.. it seems like a big jump.. like something wrong with my shaft or rear end.. like its stuck.. is it my rear end or is it my transmission thats affecting my rear end to exploded? Im trying to figure out which one is failure.. i got the same car you got, buddy, but its a 5.7 V-8 Fuel Injection lol, they rule.
