is this a good deal ??

i know a mechanic that can put a new timing belt and water pump for 150 if i bring the part ( so i went to auto zone and bought both for $104
so total is 254 , is this a good deal ??

get a new tensioner too. im not sure what kind of car you have but if you have a 4g63 motor (turbo 2g or a 1g) i would be a little worried about it being so cheap since they are hard to do right and cost a lot of money if they fuck up the timing.

those are much easier to do. it sounds like a good deal. make sure to do the tensioner too though

yea today i come over i had to drive 30 mile to go there , but any way i came there 8:30 today ( yes he do work on thanksgiving day he dont care about tuckey , i dont either cause im not stay home eat with my parent , i know it bac ) and about couple hour later one of the guy put it on , i think he did very good ( but my friend tell me the timing mart is not right ) but he fix it , after every thing finish it about 5:00 , i turn the car on and i see it really rought , the engine is saking , i sit in the car an d it sake ALOT , so he take a ride , i sit on the side , the car run really really strong , but when he back the and park the car , it still shake , and the muffler got really loud noise and got smoke. and he dont know what wrong , the sky turn really dark , and i need to go home , so he ask me just leave the car hear and he will check tomorrow . so he take me home , but i forgot gave him my key , but i my friend will take me there tomorrow at 8:00 ( the mechanic telling me about the mark on the timing bell was wrong , and it run fine , so he think he will change the mark just like before let see what happent ( you guy think i should tell him that just leave the way it is , and check some thing else ) I KNOW I KNOW THIS IS LONG FUCKING STORY , BUT THANKS FOR READING , BY THE WAY DOEST ANY ONE HERE KNOW WAT IS THE PROBLEM , WHY MY CAR SHAKING THAT MUCH , THANKS

after he put the timming bell and water pump , he told me the mark ( between 2 pulley should should stray line ) but it not , i start the car , the sound is really weird , my engine is shaking alot. he told me he will check tomorrow , that all and my question is ( what happent to my engine , why it shaking to much and my muffler is should really loud ?

timing could be off and is ur muffler load or it should be loud

yes im a fob , i been hear about 8 year(became us citizen , cause my parent pass and im under age , so if they pass and any children under 18 will pass too) but my english is really suck ( properly because i spent most of my time speak my own language even in school.

yes my muffler is really loud ( ofcouse muffler is support loud ) but this time is not normal.

check to see if it is hooked up or has a hole some where to make it easier do it while it it running so u can tell where the noise is coming from

Not sure exacly what you are saying. But if the timing is off you will get lots of engine vibration if thats what you mean by engine not running right i no do turky day my english is a good i can learn you how to spoke. Yeah its the timing its idleing rough and vibrating a lot.

yeah a hole in the muffler or exhaust pipes and i dont know about the tentioner

how do fix that timming , yes i do like turkey but i cant be home with my familly cause i stuck in the shop with 30 mile away

there should be markings on the timing gears you can also look it up at autozone.com

oh that marking , the mechanic tell me when he check the timing , the marking was wrong , and he correct it after install new timing bell and water pump , but the engine is shaking , he thinking do the way like before ( should i tell him dont do that , r just let he do what he think is right , cause he not going to charge me any more money.

let him do what he thinks is right and if it dont work try something else

serious this happent before like after i race or jam on the gas pedal ( but some time like 3 time this year ). but he dont know about that , he think his fault , well i think this time i just shut up and let he do what he think is right . :naughty:

it could also be misfireing but let him do what he thinks is right
