I recently bought a 2003 F150 4x4 and need to install an electric brake controller on it, so I can tow my camper. When I read through the owners manual, it seems to be saying that there is a plug under the dash to plug one into. The truck does have the towing package on it. I went to my nearest Ford dealership and talked to the guy in the parts dept. and the manager of the truck shop. Neither of which had a clue what I was talking about. Is there anyone out ther that would know anything about this matter, and where I could get the male part of this plug? Any help would be appretiated.

There should be a wire pigtail in the glove box just for this. The harness connector is just to the driver's side of the vehicle centerline near the top of the carpet under the center dash.

There is no pigtail in the glove box or any other compartment. The only thing in the glove box is two relays. One is for a brake controller and one is for the battery charger on the camper. I did buy the truck used, so maybe someone else took it. Where should I go to get one of these pigtails?

Oh, by your post I thought it was a new purchase. Well, if you look in the glovebox of a new truck, with TTP, the pigtail (and part #) should be there.
The dealership *should* know about this.
Do you have a factory instaled "7-way RV" trailer light connector on the hitch? If not, you do not have the required trailer Tow package for the weight. This package came with the 7-way, a 7 RV to 4 flat adapter, and the e-brake pigtail.

Any ford parts man with half a brain should have known what you are talking about
