Ok, heres the problem. I bought a new exhaust system for my 99 Civic Ex and even put on a High flow cat. Well I had to remove the o2 sensor out of the old cat so I had to heat it up with a propane torch to get it out. Well I got the whole exhaust hooked up and now after about 3 days of driving I got a check engine light. The o2 sensor is setting a code. Think I might have damaged the o2 when I heated it up? Any ideas on what it might be? I never had a check engine code before I did the exhaust.

Um, yes.. You just torched the shit out of a piece used for measurements. Go to advanced or autozone etc. and pick up a new one for $50-$100.

Thats what I was wondering if the High flow cat was throwing the code. I have read numerous places wo tell you to use a Propane torch to test the o2 and read the ohms of resistance. Does anyone make a o2 simulator? I do have emmisions out here and they do the obd2 check. They dont do the exhaust test on OBD 2 cars. I did buy a new O2 sensor and am gonna install it but was wondering if the code comes up again if I can put a o2 sim in its place.

o2 sim will solve the problem. when smog comes up again. just replace the hi flo with the stock cat again. A good o2 sim made by Zip22 on www.clubsi.com
$40-$50 i forgot. just search.

Not to rock the boat, but going on my 3rd week with my magnaflow hi-flo cat and no codes yet.
did the header, cat, & cat back on the same day and no problems with the ecu reading it properly.

both of mine didnt come on for a few months. the magna flo is quite a good hi flo cat.
