4x6 suck

is there anyway i can make the size for my 4x6 speakers in my 97 grand am big enough to fit a 6 1/2 speaker? any possible way at all, i have some 6 1/2 speakers and i would love to put them up in front instead of the weak ass 4x6s. thanks

Hey im about to do the same thing to mine.. I went to a local shop with the black plastic piece and put it over a 6.5" and it fit. I then took a piece of cardboard and traced the plastic molding. Im then gonna make that shape out of MDF and then cut out the size of the speaker. That way your using the same space available and everything. Only thing you gonna watch out for is mounting depth on the speaker because you dont want it hitting the window. If it does your gonna have to make a thicker brace out of the MDF.
