Tuner Car Contest!

How about this?

Introduction (lol, I had to)
Pretend, for a moment, that you are a tuner. You have Infinate Money, but no shop to make your own parts. Once you decide on your dream import, (for this example, an AE86 Treuno), you get to work. Now, the next step is up to you.


This is the concept.
The concept of the contest is to design, and draw a Tuner car. That means anything from 1986 (AE86 Treuno) To the Modern Day (2004 RSX), with a few exceptions. But. There is a side note. You must use bodykits from real cars. That means you actually have to work for this one. No gliding along. And you must list it.


Here are the Rules
The Car must be an import, Japanese (With a few Euro exceptions)
The car must be modified.
The car MUST be modified with real parts...
The car must include a list of exterior modifications.
It cannot be a photoshopped car.
You may colour it anyway.
It can include a background, but it is not neccesary.

Cars
The cars you may use are any Japanese imports from 1986, to 2005. There will be exceptions to year and country of origan. Hee is a complete car list...

Judging will be public.

Styles. The styles will be realistic. No cartoons.
Black and white, or colour

NO Tools may be used during this contest. Other than a pencil, Paper, referance pic, and colouring materials.

Update: Limited to ONE, O-N-E, 1, Un, Unos, drawing per person. If you have already done 2 for the contest, I appreciate you trying SO hard, and PM me. I may just let you enter both. PS, if you have done 2 for this contest before today, December 3rd, 2004, I will let you enter both. Anyone who has, damn you're a speedy bugger.

Is it okay if I enter a drawing that Im working on right now? I was thinking of touching up the Protege 5 sketch I did.

Yeah, by all means. Jeep, yeah, that's it. There ARE exceptions though. But, Basically, tuning something from the Prime era of Imports.

Does it half to be in color?
And can I do a 05 mustang?

Yeah...I guess you can. PS, no it does not have to be in colour.

no no, Anything that exists, or can be used on a car, can be done. It is just, you can't do stuff like Make your own body kit.

Be stricter on the rules man. If this is a Japanese tuner contest, make it Japanese cars only.

And the reason the contests die is either a.) deadlines are too long or b.) you keep extending the deadlines.

I think you can put any part on any car as long as the part exists.

PS, It is a Tuner contest, sorry for that being hazy, so any popular tuner car is allowed. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go find an R34 to drool over.

Well, since the contest is about photorealism (to an extent) lets go with allowing tools.

Remember, the whole contest is how well you can make a tuner car look, by taking a picture of a stock car, and then putting After market mods on it.

Shading won't affect judging. MUCH. Remember, everything you can do for extra points will help. I have a feeling this'll be tight.

Are you sure honu? It might not be fair because some people are extremly good at using tools and some people may not know too much about tools, just my opinion tho.

Well...On second thought, that would make it more fair. Lets go with. No tools. Freehand only.

Okay, here I go:

1.) Is the Mercedes Comp still going? If so, put this one on hold and finish that one. If not, call it off, announce a winnre, do something so I can unstick it.

2.) Edit your first post with very clear rules for this contest. So new entries dont have to read pages of thread to see all the rule changes.

3.) Finalize all of your rules and get this thing going.

4.) Do all of this and I'll sticky it for ya.

Oh, and I changed the name of this thread to something a little more official. If thats a problem say so and I'll change it back.

Maybe an M3, or an SL55? I know your not really into Jap imports. (Shame on you) But, the other one seems to be dead. Maybe you should PM Ross about it.

Here’s what I got so far I am not happy with it tho. I am going to smooth out the shading and do a few other things to it. You guy see any thing else I should fix?

Lol, well, it's is a Tuner Contest, not strictly Japanese tho.

Good thing it's considered a "Tuner" contest that allows for typical modified compacts to be used. Otherwise the Toyota Cavalier and Chevrolet Forester would be in jeopardy.

A modified car is fine. I would prefer to do a car unmodded to start, but I am trusting the honest drawing community to do good work. If you REALLY want to draw a certain car, go ahead, but make sure to change something. or start with a base car, and pick parts.
