It's tough to convert any 2wd pickup unto a 4x4, and probably just not worth it. However if you found a writen off 4x4 that has a nice straight frame, and good drive train it shouldn't be too bad putting the 2wd body on the 4x4, just time consuming. It would be a good winter project that could basicly be done wth basic hand tools.

most bodyshops, and auto recyclers where I live have a up to date list of writen off cars, and are able to bid for them, in an auto auction type thing.
I've got some articles from an off-road mag where they converted a 2wd ford f250 into a straight axle 4x4. I can see if I have all the 4 mag collection, scan them and e-mail them to you when I have time. Although I'm really not supposed to due to copyright laws. Like I said earlier though it's a lot of work

thats kool. if you wanted to send them u can but if you dont u dont have to. so how much can u usually pick a written off 4x4 s10 for you think. and how much trouble u think it would b to swap the cab. as i said i got a cutting torch and welder so that might make it a bit easier. but id just love to have it a 4x4 lol and obviously have to go to 4.3 for power with keepin decent gas mileage. but any info you can get me that might help would b appreciated. thnx again
