How much does an S-10 weigh?

I want to tow my 98, 4 cyl, manual trans, ext cab S-10 and need to figure out how much it weighs.
I am thinking around 3500 lbs.
Am I close?

The gross vehicle weight (along with other vehicle specific information) is listed on the sticker in the door jamb on the driver's side.

just a guess but 4500lbs is probably a little more realistic. I think that my 4x4 blazer is 5000, and my light little hotrod will weigh 3000lbs when done... and it's small and kept light. 4 people can easily lift the entire body and frame on my rod. Try that with a s10

Gross weight doesnt help me. I want to tow it at it lightest weight.

you have to subtract gross vehice weight by gross passenger weight and that will give you the actual weight of the vehicle. this is only accurate if the vehicle is in its stock form, otherwise you will need to get it weighed.

If you live close to a truck scale you should be able to weigh your s-10 on there when it's quiet. Even if it's open I'm sure that the workers wouldn't mind.

They don't where I live anyways
