Hi everyone!
Kinda new here but been surfing this site for a long time before I finally decided to register. Ok, so this is my current project, the Tamyia Porsche 911 Carrera. The reason I started this project was that I wanted to FINISH something, meaning I won´t spend to much time making it perfect. It will be lowered and modified a bit, I´m "converting" it into a 996 C4.
I have this monster-project going on (a 1/12 Ducati) wich I can´t stop detailing and it will take forever before I can finish it (also the fact that I don´t have any completed car yet...:shakehead).
Since I´m still in school I don´t have much time for modelling, but I work my ass off in the weekends, hopefully I´ll get it done before the annual contest here in Sweden in march. And :useless: so here you go;
The body is primed w. Tamiya white surface primer, the surface came out a bit rough but it´ll be wet-sanded and re-primed:
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Body_primed.jpg
The final paint will be Tamiya TS-55 dark blue, I was also thinking of laying a coat of light blue pearl followed by a clear coat but it all depends on how it looks after the wet coats.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Front_primed.jpg
I sanded down the rear sensors but I was a bit to uncareful so now some putty is required:
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Primed_1.jpg
I will be putting some mesh in the front, maybe I´ll paint it flat black or just leave it the way it is:
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Fine_Mesh.jpg
For me it is an absolute impossibility to leave a kit completly stock with no modifications or anything scratchbuilt, so I just had to make some:
new alu-exhaust tip (kit tip on the right)
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Exhaust_Tip_Compare.jpg
Had to make some fatty brakes, trying to replicate StopTech 14-inch (I´ll use the kit calipers):
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Disc_Compare.jpg
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Vented_disc.jpg
As for the rims I´ll go with the blue ones in the middle (they´re soon to be Alcladized [chrome]), they are Volk TE 37´s.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Rim_Compare.jpg
Time for some interior! The interior will be black with some leather (notice the texture in the backseat and on the side panel). I´ll be using flocking for all the areas painted in flat black and Recaro race seats and a Sparco steering wheel:
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022side-panel.jpg
The steering wheel and the seat are molded with Milliput from parts of my Calsonic Skyline:

http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Milliput-molded_Seat_Own_Seatbelt_1.jpg
Added two speakers behind the backseat:
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Speakers.jpg
Everything looks kinda dull and messy in the pics, but it actually came out pretty clean, I´ll take some outdoor pics as soon as I get a chance;

http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Interior_2.jpg
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Interior_1.jpg
That´s all I´ve got for now, hopefully I´ll make some progress in the weekend with the body and the interior. Please post any kind of feedback or tips, I´m open for suggestions.
Regards, Fredrik

Nice. Will be interested to see how the milliput parts look when finished.
Just a suggestion, could you use a graphics program to crop the white parts of the pictures please. It would make everything much more forum friendly.

another weekend just flew away and I managed to get some things done, the interior is taking shape and remember that thing I mentioned about not try to modify the car so much, well that was I complete lie... :grinno:
I decided to add half a roll cage and remove the rear seats, noone would be able to squeeze through to the backseat anyway. I´ve used grass-green flocking for the interior, the flash reveals the base color but it will be brush painted again with flat black. It came out kinda rough IMO but I can live with it. The speaker frames will be color-matched with the car body, dark blue that is. I kinda like the contrast between the red and the black so I´m thinking of painting the roll bar red, if not it will be painted in Alclad Steel.
Still a lot of sanding needed on the body, but I see no real problems so far.
ANY suggestions or points are welcome!
BTW here is a link to the site that inspired me to this build (aslo a great reference page if you`re building a porsche, specially for GT3´s ).

And another one (warning due to large risk of drooling):

Some pics (and no white edges )

looks good! the rear valance holes, are they for the C4S turbo look slots? if so, looks great, but shouldn't the fenders be much wider?

Thanks everybody for your kind comments, I really appreciate it. Actually the holes won´t be holes for long, hopefully they will look something like this when they are finished:

As I said before, there is still A LOT of sanding left before I can begin the painting process. Do your have any suggestions on what would be a suiting color for this car, I´m pretty sure that I´ll go with the TS-55 dark blue, but how about a white base with a light blue pearl over? Or some discreet graphics/tribals on the sides, and how about putting some blue "neon" underneath?
