Car lock problems

I have an '89 525i bmw. The problem I'm having is that the doors will NOT lock or unlock all at once and the windows and sunroof close automatically. I also noticed that the security lihgt under the steering wheel no longer blinks, it's just steady red. I was wondering if there was a way to reset it all.

So your saying when you hit lock doors, say like 3 doors lock but the 4th one takes a second or 2 to go down?

You need a Door lock actuator.

no the two back doors do not unlock period

You state th security light under the steering wheel...the large majority of factory, Dealer installed alarms had the indicator LED and the Glass Breakage mic. install at the rear of the center console above the ashtray.

You may have an aftermarket alarm and it's installation and wiring maybe the cause.

Try the drivers door, pass. door and trunk, in order with the key and post the results. It IMPORTANT to note EXACTLY what happens to help you further.

I'm not all that fimilar with BMWs just yet being a new own of a '84 533i but my windows weren't all working and i found out that there was a reset button just by my steering wheel that reset all of my lock, windows, and sunroof relays. i don't know if this helps at all or if you dont even have a reset button but i thought i've give it a try. :)

what does E28 or E34 mean?

whoops, sorry. E28 = the 5 series cars from about 1982 to 1988.............E34 = 5 series cars from 1989 to 2003.
