Ok boys and girls the time has come...
the hubs should be at my house in a couple of hours according to UPS tracking its out for delivery...SO right now ill go take off my stock hubs, paint my calipers , change my shoes pads, and be ready to put tha hubs on when they come....drilled and slotted would look nice on the front, and ofcourse put the painted wheels on the front, so it will FINALLY match the rears!!
Meanwhile while waiting for the hubs, i will put my shiny new header on, put the cat pipe on, put the 5zigen exhaust on
Also the nismo tranny mount.. almost forgot about that thing lol..
Once im done i then have to go to work at 4pm then come home and go back to work at 4am, haha pulling a little double shift... so i wont be able to post the sound or even a video of my car on here, but i will try and do so sometime tomorrow so please be patient, as i myself cant wait to hear it as well :lol2:
ok ok!! i must get going i have to get this done before work... wish me luck!! woohoo... :naughty:

haha not 4-4am lol... its a part ime job, at this airport for UPS, i usually work from 4-7 , but around holidays we get a lot of stuff so they ask to work more hours and i always agree cause i can use the money, then i go at 4am and work till about 7am possibly even 8 sometimes we work till 10 am...
anyhow... i just got the exhaust header and cat pipe on looks nice :lol2:
im gonna paint calipers now that it warmed up , and while they dry ill have to run to home depot and buy this nut thingy... so im gonna go eat and hopefully finish by 4!! im pushing it...
ohh and does anyone know the socket size for the front hub bolts? i used a 36 for the rears but its to big for the front, so im guessing like a 34? any idea?

here is a few picture i got to take before i went off to work, i didnt get any good ones because i was still working on it, but i drove it to work and ren into a few problems. First i have an exhaust leak in 2 places... one is where the header is connected to the cat pipe... and the second one is where the axle pipe is connected to the muffle pipe, there is no gasket there at all, i didnt have one... so ill have to find one possibly tomorrow, unless everything is closed haha...
I will not do the video or sound files like i promised tomorrow because it sounds crappy with the exhaust leak, just sounds like a rusted out exhaust with holes in it hahaha... ill take care of it, i was thinking of using high temperature gasket maker, but those can only hold up to so much heat... and exhaust gets pretty hot...
Ill work on the leaks tomorrow and see what i can do, and ill take a few pic of the car being all coplete and on the ground... hope you guys like and enjoyes the progress...

yes those will be coming tomorrow hopefully, i didnt get a chance to take any pics of the finished project because i was to busy sleeping all day haha... sorry i had to work till 7:30am so i came home and crashed...
so friday i will try and get some pics.
i was also thinking on painting my exhaust simi black, so it wont stand out as much for the cops, cops here in Cali like pulling over cars they think might be modified...

OK i got a few pics of the finished project, the car is pretty dirty from driving in the rain and crap, plus its pretty cold here in Cali and i dont feel like washing it cause its supposed to rain tomorrow or something... ill wash it when sun comes out again  i promise!!!
You might have noticed i also replaced the antenna because my stock one is like 5 feet tall or something and it just looks ugly, this one kinda completes my car for now :p
I was thinking about lowering it but then again i think ill wait and get the side skirts from the 97 240 and see how it looks and then work from that.. Im just glad i got all this done for now, now all i have to do is fix the exhaust leak and im good to go!! then ill work on my Eleanor and save up some money to pay off some bills and then once thats done ill put more into the 240 ... :lol2: why cant money grow on trees!!!

hha get one of those disposable ones... i heard they have one when you are done you can actually connect it to your PC and transfer, check in target or something haha..
and about my headlights, actually they are not foggy inside or anything, if anything they are just dirty because i havent had a chance to clean my car, but im working on it... and even if they do get all foggy im going for the 97-98 front end anyways so ill probably sell those on ebay or something :grinyes:

S14a, sweet choice, ( I think we have same tastes ;) ) And the 1997-98 lights are glass I think so they won't get all blurry and shit.

OK i think i finally got it done... Since i had that leak i had to think of something to fix it... now in one section i had a leak because i didnt have a gasket and i was in a hurry to get to work so i just bolted it on metal to metal... so there was a pretty good gap for the air to leak out...
the second exhaust leak i had was where the header was connected to the test pipe, even tho there was a gasket there as well. So i went to go find another 3" gasket to put it in between the 2 pipes by the rear end there... i couldnt find a 3 inch one, nobody sells those and at a muffle shop they want to much haha.. so i went to this store that had a 3 inch really thin metal 3 inch gasket with 4 holes and we have 2 holes for the bolts... so im thinking yea i can use the 2 holes and the other 2 will just be sticking out and it wont be a prob.. so thats what i bought..
Then i went by this exhaust shop and i asked them what can i do about this fat leak i have... he said that i can use this gasket maker stuff they use at their shop.. so im all sweet, so i went down and bough that stuff and it hold up to 700 degrees and exhaust gets to about what like 400 or something? so i should be pretty safe...
So then i took my exhaust off by pieces again including the test pipe, i used that gasket maker stuff on all the connection sections and the gaskets and put it all together piece by piece... making sure nothing is offset ... there were a few sections where the exhaust was hitting the bottom of the car so it would make a thump sound when i go over bumps... but i think i took care of that problem, i wrapped the section where it was hitting with some fire resistant cloth and i think im good to go...
Also, when i was driving my friend was driving behind me and he said my exhaust wobbles and goes from side to side... i figured its because of the bad hook ruber pieces that hold the exhaust up... well i didnt feel like buying the new ones and even if i did im sure it would move from side to side and wobble, so what i did is this...
Those rubber things have 2 holes in them.. one for the hook on the frame and one for the hooks on the muffler.. well i put my muffler hooks no in the holes where they were supposed to go but actually in the middle slot where its not a hole but just a space for nothing ... its kinda hard to explain, but the holes where the hooks are supposed to be in are actually under the muffle hooks themselves haha... i know its kinda confusing, but thats what i did... well the point is, the exhaust doesnt really move anymore because there is more straigh on those rubber things and its solid now... it also lifted the exhaust up higher about an inch or so, so its more hidden and i think looks better...
My car is now missing a spoiler!!! those Ks spoilers would be nice..

FYI, my cousin's Celica has an EGT gauge and when he pushes the car, it makes it up to about 800 degrees, so I'd say be careful.

well crap!!
but he pushes his, you say, doesnt his exhaust actually get hotter because of the higher RPMS that he can get out?
i guess i better be careful driving and not push my exhaust to throw out flames for now...

I wish lol. I wouldn't really consider a car fast until it's in its 13s. 15s - slow, 14s - getting there, but most cars today are this fast.
D-Bo
11-29-2004, 06:47 PM
this is true.. but it really doesn't take much to shave 2 seconds off a 1/4 mile time in a 240 these days.. spend $4000 on turbo and you're into 14s, if you're good high 13s
