I own a 04 tib. gtv6 n i was wondering if u guys could help me out with sum ideas to bring out sum major horsepower for my new ride.
Im 16 but money isnt a major issue since i have 2 jobs :P
Ive bn trying to look for sum turbo kits but the 1ns that i found were all for th I-4's n its starting to get me a lil agrivated, i no theyre expensive but in a couple of paychex i could get 1.
Or wat would u guys recomend on just sum basic upgrades like exhaust headers, ect...
I was also lookin at the arkracing exhaust and it looks pretty good and im thinking about purchasing it.
Also is there ne added horsepower for the special edition version gt's?
Any help is greatly appreciated.. thnx

... at 16 you need more expeirence driving.. and you should stay far away from a turbo...
plus id learn more about your car before you start to mod it

the thing is.. you want to knwo what direction you want to go with... gettin the ark exhaust and then goin with a turbo kit isnt smart.. youll need a new exhaust and youre wasting money...
if you were goin with a super charger set up... thats another story....

youll be safer goin s/c than a turbo... cause a turbo is alota work..
learn more and get to knwo everything first.. feel free to ask questions we'll help you out

... check nxtgenmotorsports out... theres a link in the stickied topic...
its alot less maintenance...
a turbo has to be maintained more.. and if you dont know about turbos.. dont get one
n/a stuff can be found at nxtgen or any other site in the sticked thread...
n/a- intake exhaust headers upper/ lower intake manifold
etc etc etc

well i looked at sum supercahrgers bu 1 of my friends sed that the superchargers can actually flood the engine with fuel.
and he sed ull have to do sum body modifications to fit the s.c in there b/c it will prolly have to stick out of the hood.
i think hes full of it but im not sure, i was lookin at the ripp s.c but i dont wanna do and body modifications just to fit it..!

your friend is an idiot.. companies make s/c's to fit under teh hood with no modification... (for teh tib) so youre good to go

<Rolls eyes> First, that kid's friend IS an idiot. Second, I have an 03 GT V6, Borla Cat-Back exhaust, Alpine supercharger, and a prototype true-cold air intake with new MAF, as well as a few other items. The car screams, I had an Evo for lunch on my way back from LAX.

Third, if that 16 year old does what I did to his car, he'd better have already picked out what music he wants at his funeral. Tick tock, tick tock, the countdown will begin.

If you want a rocket, be willing to pay NASA. All my mods were at jobber price (I own a high performance/motorsports store) and I still am in it a good 3 grand.

Keep the rubber on the road.

First of all, 04TiburonGtV6SE, no one is going to take you seriously if you can't even spell supercharger (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=2502116&postcount=5). Considering that you are from Tennessee and not an overseas member, one would assume that you would know how to spell the english language or at the very least use a spell checker. Even overseas members know how to spell in their posts.

Now, I was originally going to note my distaste at Tearzflos' comment (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=2507559&postcount=8) of "maybe he will die 2minutes after getting the supercharge", but you know what, thinking about it, I agree. These kids think they know it all and want to drive the fastest vehicle they can, but in reality are inexperience and would jeopardize other drivers with their inability to control a fast car if they had one. My suggestion to you 04TiburonGtV6SE, would be to know as much as one can about your car as possible and then take defensive driving courses as well as racing courses which are offered in almost all states and then one would know how to master driving a fast car. Putting in a supercharger and pushing the car to its limit might not only put yourself in danger but others around you as well. Think with your head, not your foot.

Bottom line, grow up, know your car, know your abilities and limitations. Then drive the crap out of your car. Otherwise, stay off the road.

TS out

well... let the man dream.... i wish i was 16 still... i would be saving up so my sorry ass wouldn't be in debt right now... but anyway that's a bit off the subject.

I would like to point out to the kid that turbo's are very high maintence and unless you are wanting to go directly to the tracks... go with a supercharger. If you have the money for it, get the supercharger and put the rest into exaust, headers, struts, etc... don't dump everything into a turbo. btw, what times are you hitting chad ebert?

humm. the aluminum block has to high of compression 10.1:1 to use force induction. Well you could but you whould have to run so little of boost it wouldnt be worth it for the $$. if you really intrested in making your tires spiin out of controle and toqure steer into the station wagon next to you, you should take off the head, and oil pan, unbolt the main caps, remove the pistons and rods, and get some cheap weiscos and eagle h rods for $750 and lower your compresison to 8.5:1, put on a cosmetic head gasket, and then start reading about how absolutly fucking difficault forceinduction is to install on a non asperated vehical.
being the nice guy i am. if your actually going to do it. i'll be happy to answer "some" of your questions when you cant figure out why your running rich, hitting fuel cut, and only getting 4* of timming advance @ 5500 rpms.
