9 pm- i walk out to my truck after work.....hmmm whats this speaker wire hanging out the door, vent window is busted in, and imagine that the door is now unlocked. First thing I do reach under the seat........2 pioneer amps gone.....behind seat 12" sub and 2 6x9s gone, along with a nice pile of glass on the floor.

I know this shit happened between 630-9 because i got food out of my truck at 630.......this is in a well lit mall parking lot.

i only have liability so i cant report to insurance.....so i know i'll never get my stuff back and i have to buy a new vent window. The police came bet theres not much they can do.

I FUCKING HATE THIEVES

dude, that sucks. all that money you spent on that stereo system, I would have thought a nice security system would have been one of the first things on the list. especially if your only going to carry liability insurance.

well i did get all the stuff free.......but still

and yes a security system is on the list now

I have never been a big fan of large loud stereo systems. I had one once, two 15in subs in the trunk of my 92 cav way back when. a few days later, my head unit was stolen, and the trunk had large gouges out of it around the lock where they tried to pry the lock off and force the trunk open. ever since then, I see no need to have a large sound system, even though I love bass. all that stereo is an advertisement to thiefs that you have something worth stealing.

yah funny thing is.......my system hasnt even been running for a while i change the battery a while back and never hooked it back up

so they never even heard it.........i guess my truck sticks out among all the other cars

man i hate that shit too... i've had my stereo stolen before, one time it was really funny because i took the faceplate in with me... they busted the window (door locks didn't work in the 88 crown vic) stole my binder of cd's.. and skat... right in front of a cop. it's funny because that's when i asked my girl out ("well, could you make my night much better? go out with me?") and the binder was filled with cdr's... not one real cd.

another time they tried to but there was nothing in the car... i took all the speakers out of it and it was sitting in my front yard basically on bricks... i had to laugh at them for that one.

fucking idiots... hate to say it, but the police don't know shit and you wo'nt get your stuff back.

I caught one in my car trying to steal my system ( I have a silent alarm that calls my cell phone) went out stuck a .44 Mag. in the back of his head and made him dig a hole in my back yard, He kept asking me what the hole was for, I finally told him it was for him after I shot him. He started crying and beg me not to kill him. Well I made him strip all his clothes off and with a magic marker wrote on his back, "I'm a thief, and got caught". Put him in my car, took him naked to the interstate and chained him to the guard rail there and went home.
Next day at work in the break room some guys were laughing at a story in the paper. It seems the police found this guy chained to a guard rail on the interstate with a note on his back saying,"I'm a thief, and got caught".

I like the idea of cutting off a hand of a thief.

In the sunny UK we have a TV show, I think its called `Trapped` where they set up cars. houses, trucks etc with CCtv. On one particular show they disabled a car and wired it up so that once inside you could not get out, the windows were unbreakable etc, you get the gist.
Along came two car thieves, broke into the car, sat inside and tried to start it, as soon as they did, the doors locked and the car started fill up with foam. Just as the two thieves were about to drown in foam the sunroof burst open and out climbed the thieves, straight into the waiting policemen.

It would be fun to do somthing similar but with a really strong purple Dye or even acid. Car thieves deserve no mercy.

I was laughing so hard when I read that. Did you get into trouble at all for it? Do you live in the US?

Dude when you replace your stereo, call your insurance company to advise them what you've put in. Save the receipts and make copies of them. Then add Comprehensive coverage to your truck, showing the copies to your company. It won't cover your vehicle if you're at fault, but will cover thieves, falling branches, asteroids, etc. And it's not too expensive.

Well you got it for free, so except for the broken vent window you didn't really lose anything.
There's no security like a '78 Gremlin, most theives wouldn't even come close enough to the car to see if the door was unlocked.

So what happened to the hole? Are you going to have to wait for another theif to come by so you can have somebody fill in that eyesore? - nice story though, you have a gun and went on a power trip... :grinno:

That sounds bad. Everyone is getting hit lately. Someone took out my dad's battery charger, tools, and stole come cd's from his car last week. Totally blows. About $500 worth of stuff stolen from him. Well, that helps me make my decision to install an alarm on my next pay check. Late...

Zgringo, hopefully your just blowing smoke. openly admitting to commiting over 4 felonies is not one of the smartest things to do.

Agg Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Agg Kidnapping
Agg Criminal Restraint
Agg Criminal Threat

if you actually did this, no jury would care that he was trying to rob you. you just made him the victim, not you.

In trouble for what? All I did was expose a thief to the world. When this happened I was living in the US. Where I live now, you catch a thief you kill them. Nobody says shit and the poilce are happy, and don't have to fill out a report.

i agree if someone is trying to take your stuff why can't you just bust 'em up pretty bad or in your case em-bar-ass them on the side of a highway?I had someone try to still my exhaust once the only reason i knew about it when i got to my car was my cousin was watching them(from his car) try to unbolt the exhaust with there bare hands after i had been driving for about 2 hours? i can still see them trying that in my head like i actually witnessed it!!! just cause you get something for free doesn't mean wehn you loose it it isn't a serious loss.

my mom lost the ring her dead mom gave her when she was young, thats a loss. free corvette and i lost it, i might cry.

as far as Zgringo's story, i probably would have done the same thing, or maybe worse. because if i find him on my property, he wont be digging wholes, he'll be shot

I think thieves should just have a hand cut off each time they get caught. After all this is America and everyone has the right to a second chance;) Or you could do the "Three strikes and your out!" Except here, three strikes and your out is when your standing in a corner on one leg.

NAh! Just put a bullet in each knee cap and turn them in.

Is it legal to hold somone at gunpoint till the cops come as long as you don't make them dig holes or strip them naked and such?

HighRev87
11-25-2004, 10:32 PM
I would assume so under the following conditions:
1. The car was parked on/in your property, and thus the thief was on your property.
2. The gun was legally registered to the user.
