My L and R bottom brake lights will not work, the top middle one works fine. The turn signals work and 4 ways work also and all fuses are good too. This is a '95 Monte Carlo.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

If the brake switch at the pedal is ok. the turn signals could still be the problem check the flashers and the switch on the column. the turn signals override the brake lights and can cancel the brakes but still work themselves.

Thanks for the replies, it does seem to be the problem.
I was messing around with the turn signal switch on the column and when I pulled slightly forward the tail lights would then work. Does this mean I have to replace the switch or can I simply adjust it some how? Anyone know?

You will have to replace the switch it will be called a multifunction switch or a turn signal switch. most of your major parts stores will have it try to get one made by borg warner its better quality and a lifetime warranty beyond any warranty the parts store will give.

I have a 99 monte carlo with the same problems. I wanted to know if putting a turn signal switch on hard and how much does one run.
