im about to sell my 240sx, with a lot of mods, im thinking of buying a 3000gt vr-4 98 of course i will be taking out a loan to pay for it, But i just wanted to know if the stock alarm system on a 98 was good or not, should i upgrade? What is the stock security system like? i know some alarms on cars you just bump the car little bit and shit goes off. Thanks in advance.

well with my car, when I lock my car it automatically arms itself, and if someone trys to open the car doors w/o a key the alarm goes off, and the only way to stop the alarm is to put the key in the keyhole for the door and unlock the vehicle. I doubt it goes off if the windows are busted out, so I would suggest upgrading your alarm system.

The one's that goes off when you bump it has a shock sensor to it. You just set it on how sensitive/unsensitive you want it to be and it'll adjust accordingly. I bought an aftermarket alarm (Viper) and if a car drives by with music too loud or an exhaust too loud, it could set it off (happened a ton of times before). I don't know how the keyless entry ones work though....because my factory security feature wasn't keyless.
