1997 t-bird v6 check engine lt on misfiring...help!!

1997 T-bird V6 Just got car smogged check engine lite been on since, car mis fires very badly to the point that if I'm on the freeway I have to put the car in neutral and turn the key off, coast for a second, then restart it...Also runs really rough...Can anyone help me?

No, unfortunately.........and the car is getting worse..With the situation I'm in I'm really relying on my bird to get me around, its all I have. I did however find out that it might be a problem with a spark plug...sure enough upon checking one of them was cracked, so I replaced them all...worked alright and the check engine light went off for about 2 hours I would say....then it started in all over again. Any advice??? Thanks in advance!

You need to have the codes scanned. You can go to a parts store like advance/autozone and they will do it for you.

Yea, the check engine light comes on for a reason. You can't just look at the light and then ask for solutions to your problem. Get the codes read, and then perhaps we can help you a bit more.
