90 max (auto) vs 2000 Civic SI

who do u think is faster ?
my friend has a 2000 civic (si-manual) with intake......
i own a 90 maxima....(Stock)...

do i have any chance?
any tips? tricks?

Is your car an SE? If so, it could be a close race. But since you have an Automatic, Civic might have the edge (if he knows how to launch).

90 Max has the VG motor if it is SE or GXE doesnt matter, it still has the VG. And let me just run it down. VG=160hp 186lb ft weighs about 3k. vs. Civic Si=160hp 160lb ft. weighs about 2.5k. Auto vs. Stick. :D Sorry to say, as much as I hate hondas. He will eat you alive. He will take you off the launch, and once he gets it in 3rd you are done.

dmontzmax, what engine does your car have? Anyways, it looks nice. I'll bet you could be the civic si;). Do you have any mods? I was really considering a 89-94 Max SE before I got my car.

Thanks for the compliment. SHO is a good pick. I had a tuff time running down this 5 speed one day. I have the VE30DE it came in all 92-94 SE's only! Very strong motor. It is 190hp with 190lb ft. The 5 speeds run a 15.5 stock. But there are guys with just a K&N Filter and advanced timing running 14.8-15.1 I have the auto for now. But within a year, it is going to be 5 speed. $2k later. Mods, I have: PopCharger (CAI On they way), Y pipe, High Flow Cat, Catback, Dynomax Race Magnum Muffler. TransGo Shift Kit. I have more but not go fast mods. The rims are 17 X 7.5 Zenetti Flex wrapped in 235/45 ZR17 BF Goodrich Comp T/A's. By summer it should have some Tockico/Eibachs and a Full Stillen Kit.
