2001 automatic can i make this fast

I have a 2001 automatic tiburon and i was wondering what was out there that i could get to make my car fast. i thought of a turbo kit but, i thought with an automatic tranny it might not perform as well. yeah i have little knolege on this subject so any suggestions will be much help.

go turbo if you can afford it.. or jus go custom turbo.. what kinda hp numbers are you looking to get/ what 1/4 mile time.. set goals for you car and we can help you in which direction to go

thanks for the reply, i have been thinking about getting a turbo kit from speed factor designs, but is there anything i can do to the transmision to improve on acceleration all ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated tahnks alot.

I started to research torque converters. How do I know what one would be right for me, and were would be a good place to possibly buy one?

if i were you though, i would swap the manual tranny in. it makes a world of difference, and is relatively simple.

my father had the same car as me an he had it in manual , he said it was a lot quicker too. i have thought about doing the swap but i thought it wouldn't be worth it, and it would cost a lot more but for under a grand it seems worth it, have you had any problems or anything after doing your swap?
