I've had mine readjusted several times and the pedal still goes to the floor without holding. Now they say I need to buy a new set of parking brake pads....and that it isn't covered under warranty.

Any others?

I don't believe it's the pads. Whatever they readjusting is prior to the pads. I had the P-brake readjusted once (last year), and the pedal issue is back. From knowledge of my '86 Silverado setup, there's an adjustable linkage in the cabling b/t the padel and the calipers. I could make those adjustments to give me as much ability to lock the wheels as I wanted. Think of a bicycle hand brake. One can adjust how tight one desires their braking to be by adjusting cable position. Of course, consult a service manual to confirm the type of hardware is b/t the pedal and the caliper.

I have a 2000 GMC Sierra and a 2001 GMC Yukon XL. On both vehicles the parking brake shoes are down to the metal. (we never use the parking brake) Also the left rear rotor/drums are damaged on both vehicles due to metal to metal contact. What happens is as I am driving down the road the parking brake shoes are rocking back and forth and making contact with the drum. I know this because a manager at "Just Brakes" told me that they have received service bulletins from GMC on this. How come GMC didn't recall this? So every time I need to get one of my vehicles inspected I am going to have to get the parking brake shoes replaced. What a rip off!

Grh, can you get a copy of this bulletin. I would like to see for myself, then inquire about recalls for that (if true).

I probably could but I think you could call just about any brake shop and they would tell you. Did you notice that no mechanic's posted here to dispute this? I have done a little research (google) looking for a class action suit but have found nothing. If you find something please post here. Thanks.
