use the seach bar at the bottom if you haven't already. search for "turbo horsepower" or "turbo ratings" or something like that. you're bound to find it eventually.

13g--not worth your time. Maybe 240 whp.
14b--some have squeezed out a little over 300 whp.
16g--depends on what kind you get...an EvoIII 16g has dyno'd just over 400 hp, but that car was practically maxed out with tuning, cams, VPC, etc.

What are your goals for the car? Decide that, then post a poll of what turbo you should put on.

I also ran 11.7's with that car and a 16g which is around 380 HP and also about the max you'll get out of a regular 16g, it's again close to it's choke point and well out of it's ideal map area at that point.

Some estimate 10 horsepower per lb/min. A little less if you want to talk about all wheel horsepower.

i have a 92 auto(may 92...is that a def 7 bolt?)...obviously awd tsi...had a 13g rebuilt back when i drove my N/A(91)...so i replaced my slightly cracked 13g last weekend with my rebuilt 13g...i just would like an everyday car with maybe 300 hp range...now if i got a small 16g..would that bolt up with same manifold and all? or would a 14b? or both?...what should i do or plan on doing anyways?

boost gauge is being shipped now...and mbc this x mas..new belts soon..new tires in the spring...strut bars..UICP spring..intake spring

You most likely have a 6 bolt. In fact I would bet on it. But you can use the info on www.vfaq.com to check the oil pan shape and find out.

The 13g is damn small. If you are willing to buy a new turbo go straight to a EVO16g at the least. The prices new are very close. If you get a deal on a used one that is a different story. And if you are really on a budget, its hard to beat a used 14b for ~100 bucks ;) But keep in mind the manifold and lines are different between the tdo5 turbos and the little 13g.

For 300 whp on pump gas I wouldnt go lower than a 16g based turbo, and would probably go with a 20g if you dont want to outgrow this turbo soon. Thats your call, and depends on your goals.
