In your owners manual it shows an emergency opening where you can access a hole through the carpet in the center of the panel to open the hatch. Simply use a screwdriver. Unfortunately, I didn't discover this until after used the prying method. I remove both side panels to chisel away at the screw heads on each side of the rear panel to get it loose. Doohhh !!
Once it's open, there are screws on each end of the panel, and one in the middle. The rest is just clips that pop off, start on one side and work your way across.
Once the panel's off, remove the metal panel to access the solenoid. It's around $60-$70 at the dealer, and yes, you have to buy the whole thing. It would make too much sense to sell the 10 cent clip by itself. You might consider searching a wrecking yard. Good Luck.

Aaaah, the rear window on the Jimmy. Very bad engineering design. I've had problems with it not opening, it'll get the click, but it won't open. I've also broken two of them, you have to slam it hard and the glass makes contact with the body. Horrible!!
It's a 91 Jimmy.
