If you're just talking about a stock remote entry set, as it comes from Ford, all it does is lock and unlock the doors...

It's me again.... I am sorry to say that the information that I got did not work. If anyone that has a 2001 Focus look in their owners manual and tell me how I can program a second remote for my car that would be great. Thank you.

hey budy i just bought a 2001 focus zts and i programed one of my remote the other day. This is how u do it....
Get in the car, fasten your seat belt, put the key in the ignition, turn the key 1 time then turn it 1 more time but dont start the engine. And also dont turn the ignition off completely.Keep turning the key from position 1 like earlier i described to position 2...u have to do this like six time in a six second period. If u did this right u will hear a chime. When u hear the chime then turn the ignition completely off.Now the car is in learning mode. All u have to do is press individualy every buutton on the remote like lets say press the unlock door button and u will hear a chime again .Then press the next button untill u hear a chime again and do the same thing for all the buttons and that should be it.
Good luck.
