11-23-2004, 09:56 AM
sons a bitches have been plotten my house for some time now obviously

my dad gets up every morning and does the same routine

takes a shower gets dressed makes coffe, goes out to warm up the car, comes back in to get the coffee and goes right back out, not even 2 minutes.

someone had it planned and new that my dad leaves at 4:00 am every morning.

what makes me more angry is that the sob has the keys to our house now, and has been watching our house and movements for who knows how long. these fucks study were i sleep.

some kids live about 4 blocks away from here and i always see some wrx
with exhaust and a bunch of ricey civics and there always at this house down the way.
i decide to go look and at 5:00am there inside garage light was on. you can look down and see that the light is on in the garage

i don't know maybe i'm just to pissed, but whoever did this has balls.

Man, I'm really sorry to hear about that, you think the ricer's would keep the vette ne where near you??? if you have time r u gonna' check their moves too, I wanna know what happens man and I hope u get ur dad's vette back to, good luck.

man sorry to heard that, I hate scumbags like that. Make sure you change all the locks in your house and maybe even get some top of the line monitored alarm system. Also involve the police. A hidden camera might also help.

About vigilante justice, seriouslly don't unless your life is on the line. You would be surprised how many rights even scumbags like thieves have and you might end up in jail. Plus remember thieves have guns also so you having a gun is no gurantee you'll win a confrontation, I know it is frustrating and you want those animals punished but its not worth risking your life for property, just let insurance deal with it.

yeh i wouldn't take matters into my own hands. but we called the police as soon as it happend

imagine walking to your car, turning it on go inside the house to get your coat come back out and your dang vette is gone, its like wtf?

i need an alarm asap, i'm wondering if he will try and steal mine next

I say, ya step number one is getting ahold of the police...but perhaps you could do a little vigilante justice. Do the same thing with your car for like a month, with the garage door open, but have you, your dad, and maybe some buddies set up a little sting operation. Just do it for awhile, and maybe it will entice these thieves....wait for them to do it again...and whoop their asses. I'm not saying it will work, but hell, it has a shot....and you are missing a damn Vette.

try getting a viper alarm ,from what i understand they are suposed to be the best, plus some of their higher end stuff comes with a 3000 USD gurantee if they steal your car on top of the insurance payback.

And if you really want to catch those guys get a gps traking unit installed and the moment they steal your car they'll have the cops on them in no time.

I had that done to my Buick when I lived at my first apt. Luckey for me, my 70 year old neigbhor lady was getting ready for some church activity at 5:00 AM and saw five guys all huddled around my car. Then she said they got in and it took them about 4 min to get it to fire up, she grabbed her phone and went outside yelling at them that she was going to call the cops. She said all five of them took off running and piled into this jenky little car.

I know they where after the car because I had my buddies digital camcorder in the car, all my CD's, both of my guitars... They did not even touch any of that stuff. I was luckey.

I hate stealing fockers! If it makes you feel better read this.

From a UK newspaper called The SUN.

"THIEVES took only 20 minutes to steal the world’s best-protected car.

The £540,000 Mercedes 600 is built to withstand bombs and grenades and has bullet-proof glass and thick steel armour.

It can be driven even when the tyres are flat.

But thieves, believed to work for the Russian mafia, stole the motor from a street in the German city of Stuttgart.

Police say they blocked electronics linking it to a tracking satellite and put it on a lorry.

The limo was used by Jürgen Schrempp, 60, boss of car giant DaimlerChrysler. It was nicked when he left it locked for a business meeting."

Hate that for your dad, hope he manages to get it back.
This is why I like automatic starters that allows you to start your car without having the key in to let it warm up, only goes when you put the key in and keeps jerks from stealing cars on cold nights or mornings. Well makes it harder from them.

That sounds like a good plan and all, but like Neutrino said, they may have weapons, potentially guns with them. So when you jump out to stop the guys, they fire away and then it's kinda like aliens vs predator for him: "no matter who wins, we lose"

Sorry to hear about the car, vr4. But you can always look on the bright side of things, a vette isn't the hardest car out there to track down. Best of luck with everything.

i know someone who got his v8 s-10 stolen twice...first time he saw it at someones house and went to steal it back, but in the middle of hot wiring it some big guy comes outside. So he knocks the big guy on his ass starts the truck on the first try and burns rubber outta there.

the second time some people broke into his house beat him w/ a base ball bat and stole his truck and all of his stuff. He found out where those fuckers lived and beat the hell out of em (including smashing the guys hand in the front door) and i'm not kidding blew up the guys prelude that he had 20k into.

i wouldnt advise doing that though

I think I'll do that same thing that Hypsi said. Although I do own a Civic. Not too much of a loss. But it's what I put into it that does. Sorry to hear about your dad's loss. That sucks. I've had my car broken into twice this year. Haven't lost anything, but I hope everything works out. Late...

no word from the police yet,

we are actaully inbetween switching insurance, its been 4 days since we cancelled the other insurance and was gonna have more insurance within 5 days.

meaning if this car is never found then his car is just gone.

all we have is a $8000.00 dollar physical damage insurance on it. so if they do find it and its damaged we have $8000.00 dollars in repairs for it.

couldnt have happen at a better time.
i can't leave my mom home by herself for awhile until we have the money to get the locks changed.

Young, don't pay a locksmith to change your locks. You can go to any Lowe's or Home Despot and buy a good set of locks for alot less...... :2cents:

youngvr4

heh, once my friend has his house broken into, and the theives stole his dad's m3. It wasn't that hard to find though; there was basically a trail of tread marks leading the entire way from the house to the public parking lot in which it was found :lol2:

it's a chevy corvette right?

that means it has a blackbox... and gps...

if it doesn't... u may be fucked, but if you have gps.. ur car can be easily found.

front damage is passenger light is busted out, and hood damage

thr rear passenger tire is sticking out so bad, hell i've never seen anything like that.

damage isn't that bad, but its definatly $6000 worth of damage

it seems like some dumb little kid stole it and didn't know how to handle something that strong and lost controll.

youngvr4 I'm glad it was only some stupid kid taking it for a joyride. Profesional thieves would've had it out of the country or in a million parts by now.

I bet your dad is happy to see his baby back even if a bit damaged.

11-24-2004, 10:29 PM
well that sucks. at least you got it back. i thought you said you had $8000 of coverage.

I honestly don't know why your pops leaves his car running without being inside of it. I do feel for your family, but leaving a $40K car running unattended, isn't a good idea. With your house all you need to do is change the locks. I'm sure your pops had insurance, so that should take care of the vette. I wish your family luck.

youngvr4
11-24-2004, 11:44 PM
like i said before, we were inbetween insurance but there is still a 8000 dollar physical damage insurance on it. so it should cover everything.

if you look in my sig the cars are up in our driveway and its on a dead end, i don't know i wouldn't really think that would happen, especially when its only 2 minutes tops in the back of a dead end up in our property, but oh well, you live and you learn

i3o2Matt
11-25-2004, 12:23 AM
but oh well, you live and you learn

and then get Luvs

but damn...that suckz...its good to hear that you got the car back...I dunno if it'll only be 6K for repairs...it might be more than that...dependin on whats makin that back tire stick out, it could be more...

clawhammer
11-25-2004, 11:16 AM

11-26-2004, 11:18 AM
I know how that is man, my moms bronco got stolen at about 3 A.M. a couple years ago and we never saw it ever again.

These kind of things piss me off and not just the regularly irritated pissed off you may have after a bad day but I mean enraged pissed off.

I'm glad the car was found and it sounds like insurance will be able to cover it. Don't let this theft turn you paranoid but you've got two HOT cars (i personally prefer the vr4) so either equip yourselves with a nice security system or always keep em locked when you aren't around and never have them out of sight when they're running because a lot of thefts occur that way.

Thourun
11-26-2004, 12:48 PM
Well thats the best way I could have seen it working out, Glad it was just a joyride and not actual theft of anything. Might want to look into carbon fiber hood, HIDs, and upgraded suspension!
