I have begun having some strange issued with my 1999 Expedition. Some days it is just fine. Other days I can hardly keep it running when I start it . The needles will go all the way over and it will rev up and then just idle down and die. I have to keep my foot on the gas for a few minutes and then it will eventually run, sometimes. Sometimes I will come to a stop sign or put on the brakes and it will die! Also, every now and then the odometer just goes out and them comes back on in a few minutes - HELP!

I'm no expert but with my experience it sounds like a fuel flow problem, try simple things like cleaning out the throttle body and replacing the fuel filter or PCV valve. Hope this helps

Had the same problem as well. Although it wasn't the Idle Speed Control Vavle. It was the Idle Air Control Vavle.

Please see my reply at http://www.automotivehelper.com/topic344975.htm

Not to nitpick, but I can't help it an idle speed valve and idle air control valve are the same thing.
