hard to shift

i have a dodge ram 1500 1997 v-8 318 with an automatic tranny and it does not ike to shift into third gear unless you let off the gass and pay with it by feathering the pedal a little. what could be the problem i thought that it might be a modulator valve but all the parts list and mauals don't say any thing about it.

I have the same problem, it started when the weather started cooling down. :confused:
Some say speed output sensore some say shift modulator, as soon as I get it figured out I'll let you know.
