1995 Overheating Issue

I have a 1995 Aurora that I just purchsed with 149K miles. At highway speed temperature stays steady at 200 degrees. In stop and go traffic, the temperature climbs to 235-240 degrees. I have replaced the thermostat (185 degree), the radiator (cracked) and all belts and hoses. The problem still continues. Any suggestions?

P.S. - Forgot to mention that I also replaced the radiator cap.

The northstar is a hot running engine - it's only a problem if it gets into the red, anything less is OK.

Your numbers are typical of the majority of owners. Carry on!

Yeah, it's not a problem. It's completely normal. In traffic jams, it gets a few ticks away from red lining but as soon as you start going, it goes right back down to 200. I don't even worry about it anymore. It never overheats.

1995 Rora here. Same as the others, heats way up in stop and go, but goes right back to slightly >200 when moving. No need to worry.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on it for a few weeks and drive on.
